RAISING THE STANDARD FOR DIVER SAFETY OPEN WATER STANDARD UPDATES
Hello Members, at Scuba Diving International (SDI), diver safety has always guided how we train, teach, and evolve. Our updated Open Water standards reinforce that commitment through enhanced instructor ratios, stronger student oversight, and a continued focus on quality diver education. These updates include revised instructor-to-student ratios for younger divers, stronger guidance surrounding environmental conditions, and clearer expectations for reducing ratios when conditions become more demanding.
SDI's newest eLearning course is here and there is some early excitement about the updated materials. Picture covering more reef in a single dive than you ever could on fins, gliding past wrecks, slicing through current with ease, and saving your energy for what you actually came to see. This course unlocks that experience. Learn how to fly underwater with confidence, control, and a whole lot more fun.
ERDI recently hosted an Emergency Response Diver 1 course combined with Full Face Mask ops and Dry Suit ops at nearby Indian River State College. The marketing and creative & education services departments spent time gathering photos throughout the week for our professionals around the world to use. The photos can be accessed through the marketing resource center or by clicking the link below.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! DIVE CENTER LOCATOR UPDATES COMING SOON
A better way to connect divers with dive centers is coming soon. The enhanced SDI Dive Center locator is being redesigned to make finding training, dive trips, charter operations, and continuing education opportunities easier and more intuitive. With smarter search tools, richer facility profiles, and improved filtering options, divers will be able to discover the right Dive Center faster. The new locator will be completely controlled by YOU, the Dive Center owner. You will have the ability to login and write the description of your shop, add hours of operation, add photos of your shop and staff, list classes offered, select languages spoken and add unique features about your shop. We are giving the control back to YOU! Stay tuned for more information and locator availability.
CROSS-SELLING ONE DIVE FAMILY PLAYBOOK: EPISODE 5
Cross-selling is not about pushing more courses. It is about opening more doors for your students, your facility, and your community. In Episode 5 of the One Dive Family Playbook, SDI Industry Relations explains how SDI, TDI, ERDI, PFI, and First Response Training International work together to help dive professionals teach more, serve more, and grow smarter.
In Episode 18 of Voices Beneath the Waves, host Stephanie Miele, COO of Scuba Diving International (SDI), sits down with Anna DeLoach, marine life author, educator, underwater observer, and Women Divers Hall of Fame member. Anna’s work with BlennyWatcher has helped divers move beyond simply identifying fish and begin noticing the behaviors, personalities, and stories unfolding across the reef. From blennies and reef fish behavior to marine education and conservation, this episode explores how curiosity can transform the way we dive. Through decades of observation, storytelling, and field work, Anna reminds us that some of the ocean’s biggest lessons come from its smallest creatures.
The all-new Gas Blender Suite is here and is structured around three separate certifications: Nitrox Gas Blender, Advanced Gas Blender, and O2 Service Technician. The eLearning is delivered as a single, unified program that incorporates the full theoretical content of all three courses. This approach eliminates redundancy and allows for a more efficient, progressive learning experience. Marketing materials for both email and social media are available for your use!!
